Happy first day of spring! As the weather starts to heat up, so does the real estate market. If you're looking to buy, here are a few tips to get prepared.
1) Get an idea of what you're looking for.
Search through listings online and drive around neighborhoods to get an idea of what you're looking for. I recommend creating a "wants vs. needs" list to get specific about the most important features of your new home.
2) Find a good real estate agent.
I'm here to help! If you're relocating out of the area, I can help you find a great agent to work with in your new city. If you're staying in town, I'd love to discuss how I can assist in your search.
3) Get your finances in order and get pre-approved.
It's very important to have your pre-approval (if getting a mortgage) or proof-of-funds (if buying in cash) in hand before starting your search. You'll need to have either of these to accompany your offer. When the perfect homes pop up, we'll need to move quickly so it's important to have these ahead of time to avoid any unnecessary delays.
